Australian Festival Season 2026 — The Complete Carry Calendar
Australian festival season doesn't really stop. It rotates — outdoor in summer, indoor in winter, transitional in between. The carry that suits February at Strawberry Fields is not the carry that suits a July warehouse night in Melbourne. This is the year-round calendar with the carry implications baked in.
Summer (December to February) — the outdoor peak
Splendour, Beyond the Valley, Lost Paradise, Strawberry Fields, Pitch. Heat resistance is the priority. Sealed closure non-negotiable. machined stainless steel body mandatory — 304 will discolour by autumn. No-pocket fashion peaks; body carry isn't optional. Black PVD and Rainbow TiO2 are the dominant finishes.
Autumn (March to May) — the transitional season
Adelaide Fringe, WOMADelaide, Laneway, Golden Plains. The transition matters more than the weather — outdoor in the afternoon, indoor venue or after-party at night, two different dress codes inside one day. Steel and Black PVD are the most versatile picks for moving between contexts.
Winter (June to August) — the indoor season
Melbourne and Sydney warehouse circuit, Dark Mofo, single-night touring acts. Jacket carry returns. Security checks at indoor venues are tighter — the pendant-as-jewellery framing pays off most here. Black PVD and Steel dominate; winter lighting kills warmer finishes visually.
Spring (September to November) — return to the outdoors
Boutique festivals, spring city programming, pre-summer doofs. Variable weather, layers on and off across a single day. Rose Gold and Gold finishes have their best season — spring lighting suits them more than mid-summer or mid-winter does.
