Finish-specific things to know

Steel

Brushed surface — it's not mirror-polished. Hides micro-scratches well. Most "ages gracefully" of the five.

Black

High-gloss black PVD vacuum-bonded to stainless. NOT matte, not powder-coat — actual molecular finish. Mirror surface picks up incidental light. Doesn't fingerprint as much as some PVD finishes due to the high-gloss treatment.

Gold + Rose Gold

PVD vacuum-bonded — same process as Black, different metal target. Won't fade, won't peel, doesn't react with sweat or sunscreen. Difference between them is purely chromatic: Gold is yellow-warm, Rose Gold is pink-warm.

Rainbow

Different process — titanium oxide layer that creates iridescence through light interference (same physics as oil on water). Colours shift depending on viewing angle and lighting. Most distinctive but also the highest-attention finish. Not for low-key carry.
